Your new furniture requires very little maintenance. It may be washed with a mild detergent and water to remove surface dust and dirt. After prolonged exposure to the elements you may want to refinish it. We recommend lightly sanding it prior to refinishing, then use a cloth to remove the dust, refinish with a high quality exterior finish. It may be necessary at times to tighten the bolts and screws. It is normal for bolts to loosen somewhat in wood furniture. In northern climates, we recommend that the furniture be stored inside during the winter months.

IT WAS VERY EASY TO ASSEMBLE, TAKING ABOUT 20 MINUTES USING AN ELECTRIC SCREW DRIVER. THE BENCH IS SOLID & STURDY, BUT LIGHT ENOUGH FOR TWO PEOPLE TO CARRY. THE GREEN COLOR IS VERY ATTRACTIVE, BUT IT WILL PROBABLY NEED TO BE PROTECTED AND REPAINTED FROM TIME TO TIME IF WE LEAVE IT EXPOSED TO THE WEATHER YEAR ROUND. INDOOR STORAGE SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM IF WE DECIDE TO BRING IT IN. WE LIKE THE GREEN COLOR BECAUSE IT BLENDS IN AND IT LOOKS LIKE AN ATTRACTIVE PIECE OF PATIO FURNITURE. ALSO, WE PLAN TO USE THE BENCH AS A PARTY BAR OR A BBQ SIDE TABLE WHEN NEEDED. IT IS A GOOD BENCH FOR ANYONE WHO HAS LIMITED SPACE AND NEEDS SOMETHING FOR SMALL YARD OR PATIO POTTING. Beautiful and very well made. I always worry when I order things online, and had made up my mind that if this potting bench seemed cheap or not worth the money....I would send it back. Wow! I could not be more pleased with this product! It's a keeper...sturdy and beautifully painted. I LOVE it, and WILL order with Hayneedle again!

The shipping is a real problem due to FedEX Home mishandling and dropping coupled with flimsy packaging. Easily and cheerfully replaced by both manufacturer and Hayneedle, but the unreliable shipping is a real problem. here.
